Cybersecurity Careers

So, what do cybersecurity professionals do? According to Indeed, “working in cybersecurity means protecting company networks, data and various systems from digital attack.” Positions within cybersecurity can range from IT roles such as support specialist and infrastructure specialist, to more consulting roles such as analyst and consultant.

As a result of increasing cyberattacks and everchanging technology, the demand for cybersecurity professionals is at an all-time high and is expected to continue to increase. As reported by Cybersecurity Ventures, the number of unfilled cybersecurity jobs grew by 350 percent, from one million positions in 2013 to 3.5 million in 2021.

Aside from the growing demand, careers in cybersecurity have many attractive benefits. As stated by Indeed, cybersecurity careers often have impressive salary prospects, minimal qualification requirements, and remote work capabilities. And considering the everchanging digital world we live in, there is an unlimited potential to learn and grow within a cybersecurity role.
